“Our Place” Impact Project: Working with UK Grassroots Music Venues

The InterMusE team is working on a short-term impact project called Our Place, which is working to create a digital legacy for grassroots music venues in the UK.

From folk clubs to club nights, grassroots music venues and initiatives are deeply embedded in community life. Many of these places are home to records, artefacts, ephemera such as gig posters, and other materials that are at risk of being lost or damaged. We are working to assess the scale of this risk and produce a series of free ‘DIY digital archiving kits’ for local venues.

We need your help!

We are asking the public to fill in a short questionnaire to help us identify venues and materials. Whether it’s a nightclub, local pub, church hall or community library, if you know of a venue, please tell us about it. The questionnaire should take around 15 minutes to complete and closes on 25 July 2021.

Fill out the questionnaire

Please help us spread the word! Share the questionnaire or project webpage with any friends or colleagues who may be interested in taking part.

If you have any questions about the project or our questionnaire, please get in touch (charlotte.armstrong@york.ac.uk).
